This committee determines CDAA’s legislative priorities by selecting bills to sponsor and adopting positions on pending legislation. Thanks again to Santa Clara County DDA Kathy Storton, who has reviewed every bill signed by the Governor and each proposition passed by the voters to determine those applicable to the work of prosecutors, our law enforcement partners, and/or public safety.
The scrutiny on prosecutors and the criminal justice system in general continues to intensify and the Legislature and State Bar have both reacted. Here in California, Adult Protective Services (APS) receives as many as 10,000 reports of elder and dependent adult abuse per month, and reports are increasing.

The California District Attorneys Association is the source of continuing legal education and legislative advocacy for its membership.
All CDAA members are eligible to join and participate in the discussions that will be inevitable as these two propositions are implemented. Our specialized MCLE-accredited seminars, many financed in part by state and federal grant funds, offer general and specialized California State Bar MCLE-accredited seminars to prosecutors and law enforcement personnel.
